I was a piano and guitar teacher at Oak Valley Music Academy of many months. During the months I was working there, I was never paid correctly. Each time when I confronted the owners (Willi Silva, Peggy Brandt), I was told in a very sarcastic manner that the payment was for the students who had actually paid for my services. Me being oblivious to the non-payment and as ridiculous as that policy sounds, I reluctantly accepted and took it upon myself to collect the payment. Behold! the students had actually paid, and that apparently, "their system is messed up" and that I would still need to wait for the next pay period to be paid for their mistake.

On a later date, while the payment discrepancies were still occurring, I took it upon myself to assume the role of bill collector to a charter school who was delinquent in payment. Later that day I receive an angry text message from Willi Silva stating "Do not ever call the charter schools again, that is my job and you will ruin my relationship with them". Being more than 60 days late on my payment, I was outraged and explained that I need to be paid for my services. I was once again told that I had to be "patient" and wait for my money.

In my opinion, there is no excuse for not paying your workers.

Just recently, I calmly resigned from my position as piano and guitar teacher from Oak Valley Music Academy due to unethical, illegal, and deceitful business practices. To this day I am still owed money.
